CMP's 'S-Drive': 705 held in 15 days
97 drug dealers, 367 snatchers, 24 extortionists, 148 juvenile gang members and 69 gamblers have been arrested.
Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) arrested 705 individuals during the ongoing special operation 'S-Drive', which has been conducted continuously for the last 15 days.
The operations, that started on 2 March, took place across various areas of Chattogram city.
According to police sources, 97 drug dealers, 367 snatchers, 24 extortionists, 148 juvenile gang members and 69 gamblers have been arrested.
Police said, during these operations, they recovered guns, pistol magazines, three foreign pistols, one foreign revolver, one locally-made pipe gun, 473 rounds of pistol ammunition, 76 shotgun cartridges, one empty cartridge, one plastic bullet case.
According to the police, a number of locally made weapons, one motorcycle used for terrorist activities and 40 stolen mobile phones were also recovered from the operations.
Chattogram Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner (Public Relations) Aminur Rashid said, "S-Drive operation is a continuous effort to suppress crime and maintain law and order in the city."
He added that the operation will continue targeting individuals involved in drugs, weapons, and terrorist activities.
