Army chief has no social media account: ISPR

The Bangladesh Army has alerted the public to the existence of multiple fake social media profiles falsely using the name of Chief of Army Staff General Waker-uz-Zaman.
In a statement issued yesterday (13 August), the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said these fraudulent accounts have been spreading misleading information online.
The army chief does not have any personal Facebook or other social media accounts and has no plans to operate one in the future, the statement clarified.

ISPR urged the public and media not to be misled by any content from such accounts.
Authorities are working to identify those responsible for such fraudulent accounts and will take legal action against them, it added.
