Law ministry allows Qawmi madrasah degree holders to become nikah registrars: Adviser Asif Nazrul
The amendment from law ministry now allows Dawra-e-Hadith certificate holders from a recognised Qawmi madrasa board to apply as well, he added.
The law ministry has announced that graduates from recognised Qawmi madrasahs can serve as nikah registrars (Kazi), Law Adviser Asif Nazrul has said.
Previously, this opportunity was limited to individuals with an Alim certificate, the adviser said in a Facebook post today (7 December).
The amendment from law ministry now allows Dawra-e-Hadith certificate holders from a recognised Qawmi madrasa board to apply as well, he added.
Dawra-e-Hadith is a six-year intensive program focused on Islamic jurisprudence, centered on the Quran and Hadith. It involves the study of the six major collections of Hadith, which record the sayings and actions of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
