Khelafat Majlis Secretary General Dr Ahmad Abdul Kader has demanded immediate legal recognition of the July Charter, stating that it must be passed through a referendum before the announcement of the national election schedule.

Dr Kader made the remarks while addressing a human chain organised by the Dhaka Metropolitan Unit of Khelafat Majlis today (14 October).

The protest was held to press for six-point demands announced by the party's central committee, including the legal endorsement of the July Charter, visible trial of the allies of fascism, and the recruitment of religious teachers at the primary level.
Senior Nayeb-e-Ameer Maulana Sakhawat Hossain attended the human chain as a special guest.
