Khelafat Majlis Ameer Mamunul files GD against Meta over 'unfair restrictions on posts'

Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis Ameer Mamunul Haque filed a general diary (GD) at the Mohammadpur Police Station in Dhaka today (25 August) against Meta authorities, accusing the social media platform of "unilateral, undemocratic and discriminatory" practices.
Mohammadpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Kazi Rafiq confirmed that some members of the party filed the GD on behalf of Mamunul.
In the GD, Mamunul alleged that his personal account and official page are repeatedly suspended, while posts featuring his name, statements or photos are also being restricted.
"My personal Facebook ID https://www.facebook.com/mawlanamamunulhaqueofficial and my official page https://www.facebook.com/MaulanaMamunulHaque have been reputedly shut down, causing me serious social, professional and political harm," he said in the GD.
In a press release, the party said Meta's restrictions against him amount to an "attack on freedom of expression and democratic rights".
Mamunul said despite being the head of a registered political party, he is being deliberately blocked from social media, which is a "clear attempt to thwart democratic politics" in the country.
