Khandaker Golam Faruq has been appointed as the commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
He was promoted to the post of the DMP chief from Deputy Inspector General of Chattogram Range.
Home ministry's public security division made the disclosure in a gazette notification on Sunday (23 October).

According to the notification, the newly appointed DMP commissioner will take charge on 29 October.
