July warriors to get lifelong medical support: Faruk-e-Azam
He also said that the recognised "July fighters" will receive one-time and monthly allowances according to their category.
 
In addition to the monthly allowance, the "wounded fighters" of July uprising will receive free treatment in government medical hospitals for life, Liberation War Affairs Adviser Faruk-e-Azam said today (26 July).
"Bangladesh will always remember them with respect for their sacrifices. I believe that the government and people of this country will always honour their sacrifice and stand beside them for their well-being," he said.
Faruk-e-Azam made these remarks while speaking as the chief guest at the July uprising anniversary celebration, cultural programme and honouring of the families of July martyrs and injured and doa mahfil organised by the "Warriors of July, Chattogram" at the city's Shilpakala Academy Auditorium.
The adviser mentioned that a separate department has already been established for the rehabilitation of July warriors.
At least 20 officers led by an additional secretary have been appointed and are working round the clock on the issues related to the interests of the July fighters.
He also said that the recognised "July fighters" will receive one-time and monthly allowances according to their category.
"The names of the martyrs of the July uprising have been acknowledged as 'July martyrs' and the injured as 'July fighters'. The injured July fighters will receive monthly allowances in three categories -- 'A', 'B' and 'C'.
"Category 'A' will receive an allowance of Tk20,000 per month, category 'B' will receive an allowance of Tk15,000 per month and category 'C' will receive allowance of Tk10,000 per month," he said.
