Cultural Affairs Adviser Mostofa Sarwar Farooki made the announcement during a press conference at Ganabhaban in the capital today (14 July).

On 5 September 2024, the interim government decided to convert Ganabhaban, the official residence of the ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina, into a museum to commemorate the student-led mass uprising that led to the downfall of Hasina's Awami League government on 5 August.
According to sources, the Ministry of Cultural Affairs proposed the creation of 199 positions for the operation and management of the museum.
The Ministry of Public Administration initially approved 42 temporary posts under the revenue department. Following a review, the Finance Division's Expenditure Management Sub-Division approved 37 of those posts and finalised the salary structure.
The museum will officially begin operations once it receives final approval from the secretarial committee.
