July attack probe committee chief at JU gets death threat
The English department professor filed a general diary (GD) at Ashulia Police Station on Thursday over the threat

Jahangirnagar University (JU) Professor M Maniruzzaman, who leads the investigation committee looking into the attack on students during the anti-discrimination movement in July, has received death threats.
The English department professor filed a general diary (GD) at Ashulia Police Station on Thursday (21 November) over the threat, he told the media today (23 November).
"This was completely unexpected for me. I was verbally abused over the phone and told that I would lose my job. The caller also gave me a death threat," said Maniruzzaman.
The Jahangirnagar University Teachers' Association also expressed concern over the death threat.
In a joint statement yesterday (22 November), the association's President Prof Motaher Hossain and General Secretary Prof Shahid Rana demanded exemplary punishment for those involved in the incident.
