Dinkal journalist's body recovered from National Press Club washroom
Police initially suspect that Ali Mamud, a journalist of Dainik Dinkal and a member of BNP's media cell, died of cardiac arrest
Police recovered the body of senior journalist Ali Mamud from a washroom of the National Press Club this morning (10 February), officials said.
He was a journalist of the Dainik Dinkal and a member of the BNP's media cell.
Police recovered the body after 9am by breaking open the toilet door at the Press Club.
Confirming the incident, Shahbagh Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Moniruzzaman said that it is initially suspected that Mamud died of cardiac arrest.
He said family members had been unable to locate Mamud since yesterday (9 February) afternoon.
Police went to the scene after receiving a phone call from the general secretary of the National Press Club in the morning and recovered the body in the presence of Mamud's family.
The OC said the body has been taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
