Jahangirnagar University suspends classes, exams tomorrow; admission process to continue
The closure follows three days of activity related to the Jucsu and hall union elections

Academic activities at Jahangirnagar University (JU) will remain suspended tomorrow (14 September), but the undergraduate admission process will proceed as scheduled, according to a notice issued by the authorities today (13 September).
All classes and office activities will be suspended, and previously scheduled exams will be postponed, said the notice.
The announcement came three days after voting concluded in the Jahangirnagar University Central Students' Union (Jucsu) election. Vote counting is still underway as of 2.30pm, with the results expected to be announced this evening.
However, the admission process for first-year undergraduate (honours) students for the 2024-25 academic session will continue. The relevant offices will remain open, and teachers, officers, and staff involved in admissions will be present.
The notice, signed by JU acting registrar ABM Azizur Rahman, also stated that classes and office work will resume as usual from Monday (15 September). However, previously scheduled final exams will remain postponed.
