The Internet Service Provider Association of Bangladesh (ISPAB) will hold a virtual meeting with Posts and Telecommunication Minister Mustafa Jabbar, a day ahead of the countrywide internet shutdown declared by the association.

The meeting is scheduled to be held at 6pm. ISPAB Secretary General Md Emdadul Hoque confirmed the news to The Business Standard.

Previously, ISPAB had announced a countrywide shutdown of internet, data connectivity, and associated services from October 18, from 10am to 1pm daily, to press home their demands.

Their demands include - the government should fix the price of NTTN to provide low-cost internet and cable TV services at the consumer level, and a committee consisting of Internet Service Providers Association of Bangladesh, Cable Operators Association of Bangladesh, Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission, Nationwide Telecommunication Transmission Network (NTTN) and City Corporations will have to conduct a field level investigation to ensure the setting up of the last mile cable.
