Internet services remain uninterrupted in Gopalganj: Govt
The BTRC has not issued any directive to suspend or disrupt internet services anywhere in the country

Contrary to rumours, internet services in Gopalganj have not been shut down or disrupted following Wednesday's clash, the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology clarified in a statement yesterday (16 July).
The government reiterated its clear stance against internet shutdowns under any circumstances, affirming its commitment to maintaining uninterrupted mobile and broadband services across the country, including in Gopalganj, read the statement.
The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has not issued any directive to suspend or disrupt internet services anywhere in the country, the ministry said.
The ministry emphasised that such actions contradict the government's policy and are therefore out of the question. "It is suspected that such false information is being spread with malicious intent by authoritarian forces and their allies."
To maintain overall stability in the country and ensure public order, individuals and institutions are advised to exercise caution before spreading misinformation and disinformation, the statement added.
