Feasibility study underway for Tk3,500cr farm-access road in haor region
Sunamganj-1 lawmaker Kamruzzaman Kamrul issued an urgent public interest notice, where he drew attention to the need for constructing submersible roads to support farmers during paddy sowing and harvesting seasons.
Feasibility studies were is underway for a Tk 3,500 crore project to develop farm-access road communication networks in the haor region, State Minister for local government Mir Shahe Alam said today (7 April).
However, the government remained cautious about potential environmental impacts, referring to the controversial Nikli–Itna–Mithamoin road in Kishoreganj, said the state minister while speaking during the 10th day of 13th Jatiya Sangsad's first session
"Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has strictly instructed that no project should be undertaken if it disrupts natural water flow," he said.

The state minister made the statement to address Sunamganj-1 lawmaker Kamruzzaman Kamrul's urgent public interest notice where he drew attention to the need for constructing submersible roads to support farmers during paddy sowing and harvesting seasons.
Kamruzzaman also said that his constituency had limited concrete road infrastructure.
