India reiterates commitment to boost cooperation in rural economy, grassroots empowerment
India has reiterated its commitment to strengthening bilateral engagement with Bangladesh in areas such as rural economy, agricultural cooperatives and grassroots financial empowerment.
India's High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pranay Verma made the remarks today (3 March) during a courtesy call on Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
According to a press release, the discussions explored various areas of mutual interest, including enhanced cooperation to strengthen local governance structures, rural development, and shared priorities for both countries.
The high commissioner underlined that India-Bangladesh relations are founded on strong people-to-people ties.
He also said India remains ready to engage with Bangladesh in a positive, constructive and forward-looking manner to promote people-centric cooperation in all domains based on mutual interest and mutual benefit.
