Illegal weapons seized at borders as BGB ramps up operations
According to Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) intelligence reports, criminal groups have recently attempted to smuggle illegal firearms into Bangladesh to undermine public safety.
In the last three months, BGB has seized 16 pistols (domestic and foreign), 2 revolvers, 2 SMGs, 5 rifles, 16 domestic guns, 3 shotguns, 3 mortar shells, 8 hand grenades, 27 other weapons, 21 magazines, and 1,003 rounds of ammunition.
BGB said intelligence and operational activities have been intensified at the field level to curb the infiltration of illegal weapons across the border.
