Country’s highest 154 millimeters of rain were recorded in Cox’s Bazar in 24 hours till 6am on Thursday

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast moderately heavy to very heavy rainfall in Dhaka, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barishal & Chattogram divisions in 24 hours commencing 9am on Thursday.

"Light to moderate rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal & Chattogram divisions and at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh & Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal & Chattogram divisions," said a Met office bulletin.

The low-pressure area over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining area persists.

The axis of monsoon trough runs through Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, the centre of the low to Assam across the central part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs extends up to North Bay.

Monsoon is active over Bangladesh and strong over North Bay.

Day and night temperature may rise slightly over the country.

Country's highest 154 millimeters of rains were recorded in Cox's Bazar in 24 hours till 6am on Thursday.
