Volunteer blood donors meet 35% of Bangladesh’s demand

Bangladesh has an annual demand of more than 800,000 bags of blood and volunteer donors help meet 35 percent of the demand, said Secretary to the Prime Minister's Office Mohammad Tofazzal Hossain Mia.

Addressing a function organised in honour of more than 300 blood donors at the IDEB Bhaban in Dhaka on Sunday, Tofazzal said that the donors are doing the noble work for the betterment of humanity.

The Quantum Foundation organised the reception for the members of Silver, Golden and Platinum club of the Quantum Lab, for donating bloods for 10 times, 25 times and 50 times respectively.

Praising the foundation and blood donors for their contribution to the society, the secretary called upon the wealthy to participate in this noble deed.

Meanwhile, the chair praised the contribution of regular blood donors and expressed her confidence that blood demand will soon be met in the country with the continuation of donation.
