Vandalism destroys children's vaccination records at Radda
Despite the disruption, parents said they were relieved that vaccination services had resumed. Nurunnahar, who brought her 14-month-old child, said her family depends on the center because treatment elsewhere is expensive.
Radda MCH-FP Centre in Mirpur-1 carried out vaccination for a fourth consecutive day despite extensive damage from Thursday night's attack, but health workers are struggling to maintain children's immunisation records after the registers were destroyed.
They can no longer verify which vaccines a child has previously received and are now relying on mothers to recall earlier doses and dates. The problem is particularly difficult for parents who cannot remember their children's vaccination history.
"Our registers have been destroyed, and there is no way to recover them. We are collecting information from mothers who come for new doses and working accordingly," said Beauty Akhter, a nurse at the center.

Asked about the possibility of errors, she said, "There is little we can do about it at the moment. We are trying to record everyone's information again."

"Treatment costs much more elsewhere, so we come here. If this place is destroyed, poor people like us will be in trouble. We want the government to repair the center quickly," she said.
Vaccination was conducted under a tarpaulin beside the road on Saturday and Sunday after the attack late Thursday night. On Monday, health workers cleaned one damaged room and resumed vaccination there.
Temporary repair and renovation work has begun at the Radda center, though much of the facility remains damaged and unusable.
