No refusal of measles patients citing lack of beds: DGHS
Any deviation will make the head of the hospital accountable, it said.
No hospital can refer a patient with measles or measles-like symptoms to another facility citing a lack of beds, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has said.
Dr Abu Hussain Md Moinul Ahsan, director (hospitals and clinics) of DGHS, issued the directive on Tuesday (21 April).
"Instead, hospitals must arrange additional beds if needed," he added.
Referral will only be allowed for essential advanced treatment, following the upazila, district, medical college hospital, and specialised hospital flow chart.
Any deviation will make the head of the hospital accountable, Moinul said.
