ICU unit launched at BMU Super Specialised Hospital

A limited-capacity Intensive Care Unit (ICU) has commenced operations at the Super Specialised Hospital of Bangladesh Medical University (BMU).
BMU Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Professor Dr Md Abul Kalam Azad inaugurated the facility at the hospital today (22 April).
Speaking at the event, Dr Azad emphasised the administration's ongoing efforts to make the hospital fully operational.
"We are determined to overcome all obstacles and recruit the necessary manpower to complete this project. Once fully operational, this hospital will help reduce the number of patients seeking medical treatment abroad," he said.
BMU Registrar Professor Dr Md Nazrul Islam urged doctors and nurses to enhance their patient interactions, ensuring the provision of superior medical services and patient satisfaction.
He also pledged the prompt delivery of all necessary radiology and imaging services within the super specialised facility.
The BMU Super Specialised Hospital features a total capacity of 750 beds, complemented by 14 state-of-the-art operating theaters, a 100-bed ICU, a 100-bed emergency unit, six VVIP cabins, 22 VIP cabins, and 25 deluxe cabins.
