Govt doctors barred from practising at clinics within 1km of govt hospitals
The directive, signed by DGHS Hospital and Clinics Department Director Dr Md Nurul Islam, said the decision was taken in line with Decision No 6 of the minutes of a 17 August meeting chaired by the prime minister on improving healthcare quality.

The government has barred the establishment of new private hospitals within one kilometre of government hospitals and prohibited government doctors from practising at existing private clinics within the same radius.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) issued a directive yesterday (22 September) to implement the decision.
The directive, signed by DGHS Hospital and Clinics Department Director Dr Md Nurul Islam, said the decision was taken in line with Decision No 6 of the minutes of a 17 August meeting chaired by the prime minister on improving healthcare quality.

The relevant authorities have been instructed to take necessary steps to implement the decision based on the minutes sent by the Prime Minister's Office.
