BMU provides Tk2.5cr financial aid to 500 patients

Bangladesh Medical University (BMU) is providing financial assistance of Tk50,000 each to a total of 500 patients, amounting to Tk2.5 crore in total.
An event was held at the university's Shaheed Dr Milton Hall today (15 July), where financial aid was distributed among patients suffering from cancer, kidney disease, liver cirrhosis, stroke-induced paralysis, congenital heart conditions, and thalassemia.
The programme was initiated by BMU's Social Welfare Office.
Professor Dr Md Abul Kalam Azad, pro-vice chancellor (administration) of BMU, attended the event as the chief guest and handed over cheques to the first 100 beneficiaries. The remaining 400 patients will receive their financial assistance in the coming days.
Also present at the event were BMU Director (Hospital) Brigadier General Abu Noman Mohammad Mosleh Uddin, Additional Director Dr Hasnat Ahsan Suman, Deputy Director Dr Md Abu Naser, and social welfare officers Samia Ismat Soheli and Rumana Yasmin, among others.
