4 more die of dengue

Four more deaths were reported from dengue in 24 hours till this morning (20 November), raising the number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease in Bangladesh to 353 this year.
During this period, 745 more patients were hospitalised with viral fever, bringing the total number of cases to 88,457 so far this year, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Two of the new deaths were reported in the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), and one each in the Chattogram and Rajshahi Divisions (outside city corporations).
Currently, 2,838 patients are receiving treatment at various hospitals across the country.
Of the deaths, 52.1% were men and 47.9% were women.
Last year, dengue claimed the lives of 575 people.
