Gulshan Society elects new executive committee
Barrister Omar Sadat has been re-elected as the president for the next two years, while Mujibur Rahman Mridha as the secretary general.
The full panel of Barrister Omar Sadat-led "Bhalobasar Gulshan" has been elected unopposed in the Gulshan Society election held yesterday (21 April).
Barrister Omar Sadat has been re-elected as the president of Gulshan Society for the next two years, while Mozibur Rahman Mridha as the secretary general, said a press release.
Barrister Omar Sadat is a senior lawyer of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh. He has also been working as an urban rights activist for a long time.
The newly elected Secretary General, Mozibur Rahman Mridha, is a renowned businessman by profession.
The election of the 12th Executive Committee of Gulshan Society was conducted fairly and peacefully under the overall supervision of Chief Election Commissioner Nurul Alam, the press release added.
Besides, valiant freedom fighters Captain (Retd) Abdul Majed Mia and Eva Rahman have been elected as vice-presidents, Ali Ashfaq as treasurer, Khadem Md Rayyan Sadid and Joya Kabir as joint secretary generals, Mahfuzul Azam Romel as joint-treasurer and Faizur Rahman Khan, Aminul Islam Chowdhury, Regina Nasir, Farzana Chowdhury and Iftekhar Rahman as the executive members.
Besides, Imtiaz Mohammad Mohsin, Barrister Kamrun Nahar Mahmud, Morshedul Alam Chakladar, Pulak Poddar and Dr Zafrul Islam have been elected as the Zone Chairmen.
Gulshan residents have congratulated all the members of the newly elected committee. It is hoped that the leaders of the newly elected committee will open new horizons for the development of the area.
