Implementation of recommendations by reform commission will influence the timing of the next national election, Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam said today (5 February).
The interim government will release the "July Proclamation" following consensus between the interim government, political parties, and other key stakeholders on recommendations from the reform commissions, he also said.
Speaking at a press conference following the submission of reports by the Public Administration and Judiciary Reform Commission, Shafiqul Alam stated that the chief adviser's Consensus Committee will now review all recommendations before engaging in discussions with political parties and civil society.

"Once all parties agree on a set of recommendations, they will be finalised, and the 'July Proclamation' will be released," he said.
He further emphasised that the implementation of these reforms will influence the timing of the next national election – in December this year or in June 2026.
Regarding judicial reforms, Shafiqul Alam highlighted key recommendations from the Judicial Reform Commission, which challenges previous claims of judicial independence.
"Despite past assertions, true judicial independence has not been achieved," he noted.
The commission has proposed structural changes, potentially including constitutional amendments, to establish an independent judiciary, he said.
Additionally, the press secretary said reforms aimed at enhancing transparency within the judicial system have been put forward by the commission.
