Govt transfers 8 UNOs
The government has transferred eight Upazila Nirbahi Officers (UNOs) from different upazilas across the country.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification in this regard here yesterday (20 January) evening, saying the appointment of UNOs having senior assistant secretary status.
According to the transfer order, UNO of Patharghata in Barguna district Ishrat Jahan has been transferred to Charfashion upazila in Bhola district, UNO of Jibannagar in Chuadanga district Md Al-Amin to Nagarkanda in Faridpur district, UNO of Bhandaria in Pirojpur district Rehena Akter to Dhunat in Bogura district, UNO of Bahubal in Habiganj district Liton Chandra Dey to Jibannagar in Chuadanga district, UNO of Dhunat in Bogura district Pritilata Barman to Bahubal in Habiganj district, UNO of Nagarkanda in Faridpur district Mehraj Sharbin to Kamlakanda in Netrokona district, UNO of Kamlakanda in Netrokona district Masudur Rahman to Bhandaria in Pirojpur district and UNO of Charfashion upazila in Bhola district Md Lokman Hossain to Patharghata in Barguna district.
The notification said that the government has also delegated the power of executive magistrates to those eight BCS (administration cadre) officers under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898, to perform their duties as executive magistrates under their jurisdiction.
It, however, said that the transferred officers will join their posted designated stations by 22 January; otherwise, they will be stood down from the afternoon on that date.
The transfer order, with approval by the Election Commission, issued for public interest, will come into effect immediately, the notification added.
