Govt transfers 11 senior police officials, including DIG, in major reshuffle

In a major reshuffle, the government has transferred and posted 11 senior police officials, including a deputy inspector general (DIG), to new positions.
The changes, made in the public interest, were announced in two separate notifications issued by the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs yesterday and today (7 May).
The orders will be effective immediately, the ministry said.
According to the notifications, six officials currently serving as additional inspectors general have been assigned to various units - AKM Awlad Hossain to Police Telecom, Md Chhibgat Ullah to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Dhaka, Gazi Jashim Uddin to the Industrial Police, Toufique Mahbub Chowdhury to the Bangladesh Police Academy in Sardah, Razaul Karim Mallick to the Dhaka Range, and Shoeb Riaz Alam as DIG at the Special Protection Battalion (SPBn).
Additionally, in a separate circular issued yesterday posted Md Sarwar, DIG of the Special Branch, as additional police commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), while Md Atikur Rahman and Mohammad Enamul Haque, both additional DIGs, have been appointed as joint police commissioners of DMP.
Besides, ANM Sajedur Rahman, superintendent of police (SP) from the Special Branch, has been posted to Habiganj as SP, and Aslam Shahjada will remain in his current role as SP of Dhaka Range following the cancellation of his previous transfer order.
