Govt officials in Dhaka must take possession of allotted quarters within 10 days
As per the terms mentioned in the allocation letter, allottees are required to take possession of the vacant house within ten days of issuance, it added.

Government officials and employees working in Dhaka city must take possession of their allotted government quarters within ten days of allocation.
According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Housing and Public Works today (31 July), the Directorate of Government Accommodation allocates various categories of government housing in Dhaka to eligible officers and employees, subject to certain conditions.
As per the terms mentioned in the allocation letter, allottees are required to take possession of the vacant house within ten days of issuance, it added.
However, the ministry said that many allottees often fail to take possession of the assigned accommodation despite it being vacant. Some even apply for a different house after some delay or request the cancellation of the original allocation altogether.
"As a result, the government is being deprived of revenue collection due to the house being vacant for a long time; on the other hand, it is not possible to allocate houses to others due to the fact that the house is still occupied," said the release.
The ministry further emphasised that, to ensure proper management of government housing and efficient revenue collection, allottees who are unwilling to take possession must promptly inform the Directorate of Government Accommodation.
