Govt issues gazette regarding holiday on 3 April

The government has issued a gazette through an executive order making 3 April a general holiday.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued the gazzete today (23 March).
All government, semi-government, autonomous, semi-autonomous and private offices except emergency services will remain closed on 3 April, the gazette said.
The decision to declare a holiday on 3 April was taken during a meeting of the advisory council of the government on Thursday (20 April) to make people's Eid journey easier.
Emergency services like electricity, water, gas and other fuel, fire service, port activities, cleaning activities, telephone, internet and postal services will remain outside of the jurisdiction of this holiday, the gazette said.
Hospital, other emergency services and staff working in these services will not get this holiday, the gazette added.
The Bangladesh Bank will give directions on the holiday notice of the banks, while the Supreme Court will direct the courts on this issue, the gazette further said.
