Govt to increase food allocation thru OMS for flood-affected areas: Food adviser

The government will increase food allocation through its open market sale programme in areas that were affected by flood in 2024 to meet, Food Adviser Ali Imam said today (12 June).
The adviser made the comment while talking to the journalists in Cumilla after a meeting with the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Amirul Kaiser and officials of the Directorate General of Food.
Speaking on the occasion, he said, "Work will be done to resolve the waterlogging of the food warehouse in Dharmapur of Comilla city and the waterlogging of the record room in Kaliajuri. The government will also work to maintain the food warehouse and the record room buildings."
"Instructions have been given to the concerned departments in this regard. They will identify the problems and work on them as soon as possible," he added.
