The government today approved a proposal in principle for procuring wheat on a G2G basis to meet the country's growing demand following Section 68 (1) of the Public Procurement Act, 2006, and Section 76 (2) of the Public Procurement Rules, 2008.
The government also decided in principle to reduce the timeframe of the wheat procurement process through international tender following Section 83 (1) (Ka) of the Public Procurement Rules, 2008.
The decision was made today (20 May) at the 15th meeting of the Advisers Council Committee on Economic Affairs held with Finance Adviser Salehuddin Ahmed, who is the chair of the Bangladesh Secretariat.
