Govt allows Hajj registration with expired passports
The decision aims to simplify the registration process for those planning to perform Hajj in 2026

The Ministry of Religious Affairs has eased the passport validity requirement to facilitate the registration of intending pilgrims for Hajj 2026.
According to a circular issued today (7 October) by the ministry's Hajj-1 section, registration will now be allowed even with expired passports.
The ministry said the decision aims to simplify the registration process for those planning to perform Hajj in 2026.
However, the circular clarified that pilgrims or Hajj agencies registering with expired passports must update the system with a valid passport before generating the Pilgrim ID (PID) required for visa issuance. Failure to do so will result in visas being denied.
As per the roadmap announced by the Saudi authorities, registration for Hajj 2026 will end on 12 October.
