Former railway minister Mujibul Haque's house vandalised, set on fire in Cumilla

Unidentified individuals vandalised and set fire to the residence of former railway minister Mujibul Haque in the Bosuara village of Shreepur union under Chauddagram upazila in Cumilla yesterday afternoon (5 April).
Confirming the matter, Chauddagram Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Hilal Uddin Ahmed said police and joint forces visited the site later in the evening to assess the damage and begin an investigation.
Local sources said a group of men entered Mujibul Haque's residence while chanting slogans. They shattered glass windows, broke furniture including chairs and tables, and set fire to mattresses. A motorcycle parked outside was also torched.
Speaking anonymously, a neighbour said the attackers arrived after Asr prayers, shouting slogans such as "No shelter for terrorists in Chauddagram".
The group stormed the house, vandalised the ground floor, and then left the premises in a procession, the neighbour added.
