Former Kushtia MP Selim Altaf arrested

Police arrested him from the capital’s Lalmatia

Police today (18 September) arrested former member of parliament for Kushtia-4 Selim Altaf George from the capital's Lalmatia.

Rezaul Karim Mallick, additional commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police and chief of Detective Branch, confirmed the matter to The Business Standard.

There are multiple murder cases filed against Selim in Kushtia and Dhaka, the DB chief said.

Selim served as MP for Kushtia-4 (Khoksa-Kumarkhali) constituency from January 2019 to January 2024 after contesting in the 11th Jatiya Sangsad Election as an Awami League candidate.
