Foreign ministers of China, India congratulate new FM Khalilur Rahman
Foreign ministers of China and India have congratulated Bangladesh's newly appointed Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman, expressing their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and advancing regional cooperation.
In separate messages, Wang Yi, foreign minister of the People's Republic of China and Member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China, and S Jaishankar, external affairs minister of India, conveyed their warm wishes to Khalilur Rahman on assuming office.
Minister Wang Yi emphasised China's readiness to work closely with Bangladesh to implement the important understandings reached by the leaders of the two countries. He expressed confidence that under Khalilur Rahman's leadership, the China-Bangladesh Comprehensive Strategic Partnership would be elevated to new heights, further deepening cooperation across various sectors.
Meanwhile, Minister Jaishankar noted that he looks forward to collaborating with Khalilur Rahman to strengthen Bangladesh-India relations. He underscored the importance of advancing cooperation for mutual progress and shared prosperity, reflecting the longstanding ties between the neighbouring countries.
