Fire destroys 4 houses in Mirsarai's Saidali village

A fire has burned down four houses in Mirsarai, Chattogram and firefighters brought the blaze under control after an hour-long effort.
The incident occurred around 8:00pm yesterday (4 March) at the residence of Anwar Hossain Master in Saidali village, Ward No. 1 of Mayani Union under Mirsarai upazila.
The victims of the fire have been identified as four brothers Khorshed Alam Dulal, Belal Hossain, Helal Uddin, and Abu Zafar, who claimed the loss would be estimated to Tk50 lakh.
Describing the ordeal, victim Khorshed Alam Dulal said, "No one was home at the time. My wife had gone to the market to see a doctor, and I was at my shop. Suddenly, people informed us that our house was on fire. By the time we got there, everything had burned down. We have lost everything and become destitute. We couldn't save any belongings, including Tk1 lakh in cash and two and a half tolas of gold ornaments."
He further added that the fire spread rapidly, engulfing all nine rooms of their four tin-shed houses, along with the kitchen.
Ahmed Hossain, officer of Mirsarai Fire Service and Civil Defense, stated that the fire is believed to have originated from an electrical short circuit. "We received the news around 8:00pm and rushed to the spot. After a strenuous effort of about an hour, we managed to bring the fire under control," he said.
He also mentioned that by the time firefighters arrived, the fire had already spread throughout the houses. However, with the combined efforts of fire service personnel and locals, they were able to extinguish the flames and recover goods worth approximately Tk10 lakh.
