A devastating fire that broke out in the Aturar Depot area of Chattogram city in the afternoon has been brought under control after around three hours.
The fire was brought under control at around 6:15pm, Anwar Hossain, assistant Director of Chattogram Fire Service and Civil Defence, confirmed to The Business Standard.
Earlier, Fire Service officials said six firefighting units from three different stations were working to douse the fire that broke out at around 2:58pm near the north gate of Amin Jute Mills.
According to the Fire Service's Chattogram Divisional Control Room officials, initial information suggests that the fire started in several shops of jhut, but the exact cause of the blaze remains unknown.
