Fire at Gulistan’s Sundarban Square Market brought under control

A fire that broke out at Sundarban Square Market in the capital's Gulistan area this morning (2 August) has been brought under control, according to the Fire Service and Civil Defence.

The blaze originated on the fourth floor of the market around 10am. The first firefighting unit reached the spot at 10:03am, and a total of 11 units worked to douse the flames.
The cause of the fire and details regarding any casualties or damages could not be known immediately.
The fire service also used a drone to assess the exact situation of the fire to extinguish the flame effectively, he said.
Duty officer of the FSCD, Rashed Bin Khalid ,told BSS that no casualties have been reported so far.
