Fire at Demra ink factory brought under control after 2hrs; 2 injured
Eight firefighting units managed to bring the fire under control at around 1:55pm
A fire that broke out at an ink manufacturing factory in Demra was brought under control after two hours today (30 April), leaving at least two people injured.
The blaze started at around 11:38am at a tin-shed factory in Amulia Model Town. Eight firefighting units managed to bring the fire under control at around 1:55pm, said Fire Service and Civil Defence Headquarters Warehouse Inspector Anwarul Islam.
Among the injured is firefighter Nayem Hossain, 30, who received primary treatment at a hospital.
Another victim, Sujan, 22, sustained burns to around 60% of his body and was admitted to the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, hospital sources said.
The cause of the fire and the extent of damage could not be immediately determined.
