A fire that broke out at a helmet warehouse in Mukim Bazar area of Bangshal in Old Dhaka this evening (16 August) was brought under control after nearly two hours, with seven firefighting units deployed to tackle the blaze.

The Fire Service and Civil Defence received the report of the fire at around 6:04pm, said Duty Officer Rozina Akter of the Fire Service control room.
The first firefighting unit reached the scene at around 6:08pm, and six more units later joined the operation.

The fire was brought under control at around 7:55pm, the Fire Service said.
No casualties were reported.
The cause of the fire and the extent of damage could not be immediately confirmed.
