Gulistan commercial building fire under control after nearly 2hrs
The fire erupted from a warehouse located on the roof of the Khaddar Bazar Shopping Complex at Gulistan Zero Point around 5:15pm. Nine firedighting units brought the blaze under control around 6:58pm.
A fire that broke out on the rooftop of an eight-storey commercial building in the Gulistan area of the capital this evening (26 December) was brought under control after nearly two hours.
The fire erupted from a warehouse located on the roof of the Khaddar Bazar Shopping Complex at Gulistan Zero Point around 5:15pm.
Confirming the matter, Fire Service and Civil Defence (Media Cell) Warehouse Inspector Md Anwarul Islam said, "Nine firefighting units brought the fire under control around 6:58pm."
Earlier, he said, "Upon receiving the fire alert at 5:28pm, firefighters from the Siddik Bazar Fire Station rushed to the spot."
No casualties were reported as of filing this report.
Details regarding the cause of the fire and the extent of damage could not be known yet.
