Families of workers killed, injured in Banshkhali receive financial assistance
Families of the seven workers killed get financial assistance of Tk2 lakh each

The Chattogram district administration handed over financial assistance to the families of the workers killed and injured in police firing at Gandamara in Banshkhali.
The cheques were ceremonially handed over to them in the Deputy Commissioner's conference room in Chattogram on Thursday.
Each family of the seven killed workers was given financial assistance of Tk2 lakh, and 22 injured workers were given Tk50,000 each.
District Administration Executive Magistrate Md Omar Faruq said the financial assistance was provided by the Bangladesh Labour Welfare Foundation to the workers killed, and the injured who are currently undergoing treatment at Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
Banshkhali MP Mostafizur Rahman Chowdhury, Divisional Commissioner ABM Azad, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Mominur Rahman, and Deputy Director of Local Government, Badiul Alam, were present on the occasion.
On 17 April, police opened fire on workers protesting at the under construction SS power plant, owned by industrial group S Alam. Seven workers were killed and at least 30 were seriously injured in the incident.
