Fact-finding committee identifies over 100 individuals involved in DU attacks during July uprising

The fact-finding committee has identified more than hundred people who were involved in the attacks on Dhaka University (DU) students during the July uprising from 15 July to 5 August.
Kazi Mahfuzul Islam Supon, convener of the fact-finding committee on the July attacks and associate professor of the law department, submitted the 550- page report to Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Professor Niaz Ahmed Khan at the lounge adjacent to the DU VC office today (13 March).
Committee convener Supon said, "We have tried to include all the attacks that took place at Dhaka University from 15 July to 5 August during the July movement in this report."
"We saw that the attacks were carried out on female students at Dhaka University on 15 July in a planned manner. We have found direct evidence of the involvement of DU students also in those violent attacks," he added.
When asked about the process of preparing the report, the committee convener said, "As no CCTV footage of the attacks was available, we reached out to students via email and a contact number, requesting information and evidence. In response, students provided various pictures and videos of the July attacks."
Besides, the committee prepared the report based on the news that they saw in the national and international newspapers, he added.
Dhaka University authorities formed the four-member fact-finding committee to identify those involved in the violent incidents that took place on the university campus between 15 July to 5 August.
