Explosion at power grid leaves Gaibandha in dark

The entire Gaibandha district has been facing a massive power outage since Monday afternoon, following an explosion at a circuit breaker at the Palashbari Grid Substation.
Abdul Mannaf, an executive engineer of the district, confirmed the information to The Business Standard.
The incident took place around 4:30pm when the circuit breaker went off snapping the electricity supply across the district, he said.

The executive engineer also disclosed that he along with a group of experts was on way to the substation.
However, it was uncertain how long the power supply would take to be restored.
