Rain, thunder showers likely in next five days: BMD

The weather may remain dry with a temporary partly cloudy sky over the country while rain or thunder showers are likely for the next five days, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) predicted this noon.
"Rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind are likely to occur at one or two places over Sylhet division," the Met Office release said.
Day temperature may rise slightly, and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
It said a trough of low lies over west Bengal and adjoining areas while seasonal low lies over the South Bay.
The Met office recorded at 36.1 degrees Celsius as the maximum temperature at Baghabari in the Rajshahi division and 18.0 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature at Rajarhat in Rangpur division .
The sun sets at 6:07pm today and rises at 6.08am tomorrow in the capital, the releases added.
