The LPG Operators Association of Bangladesh (LOAB) has said that the government's recognition of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) as a green fuel will help promote cleaner energy use, strengthen national energy security and encourage greater investment in the sector.
In a letter sent today (10 January) to Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Adviser Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan, LOAB President Mohammed Amirul Haque welomed the decision, saying it would contribute to achieving the country's energy and environmental goals in line with global best practices.
"This timely and visionary decision reflects the government's strong commitment to environmental sustainability, clean energy transition, and the reduction of carbon emissions," Amirul said.
He also expressed hope for continued cooperation and guidance from the government to support the development and sustainable growth of the LPG sector in Bangladesh.
