Youngone Corporation announces Tk1.09cr scholarship for Chittagong Independent University students
The scholarship is aimed at students enrolled in the BBA programme under the Faculty of Business and those pursuing BSc degrees in Computer Science and Engineering and Electrical and Electronics Engineering under the Faculty of Engineering
Youngone Corporation, one of South Korea's largest industrial companies, has announced a scholarship programme worth Tk1.09 crore for students of Chittagong Independent University (CIU).
The scholarship is aimed at students enrolled in the BBA programme under the Faculty of Business and those pursuing BSc degrees in Computer Science and Engineering and Electrical and Electronics Engineering under the Faculty of Engineering.
As part of this initiative, students who pass the CIU summer semester admission test will be eligible for full tuition scholarships. In addition to covering academic expenses, the program will offer recipients access to mentorship opportunities, internships, higher education pathways in South Korean universities, and job placement support.

CIU shared the announcement in an official press release, noting that the scholarship programme is part of a broader partnership under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with Youngone Corporation in February.
Under this MoU, Youngone has committed to supporting joint research initiatives, skill development programs, mentorship schemes, faculty and student exchange programs with South Korean universities, capacity building efforts, and employment opportunities.
CIU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. MM Nurul Absar commented, "This scholarship is not just financial support—it's a gateway for our students to enter the global corporate arena." He expressed his gratitude to Youngone Corporation and emphasised the programme's potential to strengthen industry-academia collaboration in Bangladesh's higher education sector.
The admission test for CIU's summer semester is scheduled for April 29, 2025. Prospective students can find detailed information and application forms on the CIU website or at the university's admission office. The deadline for application submission is 28 April 2025.
