Two-day job fair begins on Thursday at BRAC University
More than 100 organisations, including multi-national companies, corporate entities, development and government organisations, will join the fair to interview job-seekers
Bangladesh at present has more than 27 lakh educated but unemployed youths who face trouble getting jobs for lacking skills in communication, leadership and computer technology, said Dilara Afroj Khan Rupa, director of BRAC University’s students’ affairs.
To spot new potential employees, BRAC University is going to hold a two-day job fair for students of both public and private universities at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in Agargaon of the city.
More than 100 organisations, including multi-national companies, corporate entities, development and government organisations, will join the fair to interview job-seekers.

“A session will be held at the fair so that job seekers can learn about grooming from the industry leaders and experts. Besides, a two-day training on various job related topics will be held to help potential employees to acquire skills recruiters look for,” Dilara said at a press briefing on Monday.
Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen will inaugurate the fair starting on June 27 while Sheikh Fazle Fahim, president of Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry, will present the keynote paper titled “Youth powerhouse: The key to be a developed nation.”
Dilara said, “Previously we organised the job fair for BRAC University students only but this time we are organising a fair where any public and private university student can join.”
Nasrul Hamid, state minister for power, energy and mineral resources, will close the fair as chief guest on June 28.
Anyone can register at the fair for free by logging into www.bracucareerfair.com for the sessions. The fair will remain open from 10am to 6pm.
