Negligence at SSC exam centre: 7 teachers suspended, secretary relieved of duty

Seven teachers have been immediately suspended from the examination process for entering the examination hall with smartphones illegally and neglecting their duties during the SSC, Dakhil and equivalent examinations in Savar of Dhaka, today (21 April).
Besides, the centre's Secretary SM Rafiquzzaman has been relieved of his duties due to negligence in the performance of his duties.
The incident took place at Savar Girls' High School Centre (Savar-2) this morning, Savar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Abu Bakr Sarker confirmed to The Business Standard.
"A total of seven teachers have been suspended from the examination process for negligence in their duties after they were caught illegally entering the examination hall with smartphones. Besides, examinees were found helping each other in the presence of teachers during the examination," he said.
"Furthermore, due to negligence in the performance of duties, the center's Secretary SM Rafiquzzaman has been relieved of his duties.
"Monowara Akhter, academic supervisor of Savar Upazila Secondary Education Office has been given the responsibility of centre secretary," he added.
Abu Bakr said he visited Savar Girls' High School after the exams started this morning.
During the visit, he directed Centre Secretary Rafiquzzaman to suspend the school's contractual Assistant Teacher Enam Ahmed and Anis Memorial School's Assistant Teacher Tamal Hossain for entering the examination hall with smartphones.
Five more teachers were suspended over negligence in performing duties.
They are Begunbari High School's Assistant Teacher Md Al Mahmud, Gopalbari Navin Pragati School and College's Assistant Teacher Kamrunnahar Rumi, Badda High School's Assistant Teacher Md Imran Hossain, Bhakurta Union School and College's Assistant Teacher Nupur Mallick, and Rashida Begum, another assistant teacher from the same institution.
